Haidee Abe is the Chief Financial Officer for W.H. Shipman Limited, a real estate holding company established since 1882. W.H. Shipman is one of the largest real estate holding companies in Hawai‘i with a long history of community involvement. Haidee brings administrative, finance, and managerial expertise with over two decades of experience as Vice President of D. Buyers Enterprises and First Hawaiian Bank. Haidee currently serves on the board of directors of Kuikahi Mediation Center and is on the Advisory Board of Hawai‘i Care Choices and has served on numerous community boards, including as President of The Food Basket and Treasurer of the Hawai‘i Island Chamber of Commerce. She spends most of her spare time gardening and loves spending time with her grandchildren.

Dr. Patricia Hensley grew up in East Hawaii and graduated from Pahoa High School. She obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from the University of Hawaii at Hilo (UHH) and Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from California State University, Sacramento. She began her healthcare career in the United States Air Force (USAF) as a trained Emergency Medical Technician holding positions in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit and Education and Training Office at David Grant USAF Medical Center, Travis Air Force Base, California. After completing her military service and BSN education, Dr. Hensley returned home to serve as Bay Clinic's Pahoa Family Health Center Charge Nurse, giving back to the Puna community where she grew up. She has also served as a registered nurse (RN) at Hilo Medical Center in the Float Pool including Extended Care Department, Medical-Surgical Unit, Cardiovascular Unit, Critical Care Unit and in Healthcare Risk Management and Compliance administration. After completing her doctoral education, Dr. Hensley chose a position that aligns with her strong value and passion for education and now holds a position at the UHH as an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing (SON). Dr. Hensley has taught courses in nursing fundamental concepts and skills, advanced health assessment, professional nursing roles, and practicums in long-term care, acute hospital adult care, and in leadership and management. She also served as the UHH SON RN to BSN Program Coordinator for four years and now serves as the BSN Program Coordinator. Dr. Hensley is also a recipient of the prestigious UHH Frances Davis Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching.
Adam K. Bauer

Adam is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Hawaii Planning Mill Building Supply. Adam brings to Bay his knowledge and commitment to the community with regard to health administration, human resources, business development, capital management, and strategic information technology. He also serves on the Hawaiian Island Economic Development Board and Hawai’i Care Choices. Adam is a family man with three young children and is proud to say Bay Clinic plays a very important role in East Hawai’i with many HPM employees utilizing our services.

Michael McGee is the Program Director at Pacific Quest, a horticultural and rites of passage based therapeutic program located here in East Hawai'i. He received his Master's in Social Work at the University of Hawai'i Manoa and has been a big island resident since 2011 and currently lives in Mountain View, HI. Michael also serves as the East Hawai'i representative for the National Association of Social Workers-Hawai'i Chapter. He has served on the Bay Clinic Board of Directors since 2016. He is passionate about strengthening the Big Island community through food security, improved mental health care, and increased access to quality health and human services.
Katharyn Daub has served on the Bay Clinic Board of Directors since 2009. She is a Professor and Chair of the Baccalaureate Nursing at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo. Prior to her position at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo, she was a staff nurse and Hospital Supervisor at the Kona Community Hospital in Hawai'i. She was also a nurse at the Lanai Community Hospital in Lanai, Hawai'i, Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, Kentucky, and at Kahu Malama in Honolulu Hawai'i. She is certified as a Transcultural Nurse and a Certified Nurse Educator. Her interests and expertise are in Clinical Health Care, Advocacy, Community Action, our Patient Population, Health Issues and Planning, and Knowledge and commitment to the community.
Brandee Menino is the Chief Executive of Hope Services Hawaii, a faith-based organization working to end homelessness on Hawaii Island. Hope Services provides a continuum of services including homeless outreach, street medicine, representative payee, rent and mortgage assistance, and operates ten shelter facilities with over 200 shelter beds and provides home-based supports to an additional 225 households throughout the island. Brandee was part of a leadership team who organized over 50 businesses, 200 volunteers and the U.S. National Guard to build a village of twenty micro-shelters and ancillary supports in less than 30 days to help shelter medically fragile and older adults displaced by the Kilauea eruption in 2018.
As the first in her family to attend college, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Hawaii at Hilo and her master's degree in Professional Counseling with emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University. Inspired by the belief that serving others is a privilege, she has dedicated more than 20 years serving our community through the nonprofit sector. Brandee also volunteers her time serving on local nonprofit boards and advisory boards including the Foodbasket, Hawaii Island’s Foodbank, Bay Clinic, Hawaii Catholic Conference, Hawaii Island United Way’s Advisory Council for the Emergency Food and Shelter Program, Hawaii Electric Light’s Advisory Board for Low and Moderate Income Families and a director on the HMSA Foundation Board. She is an Omidyar Fellow, was named to Pacific Business News Class of 2015, Forty Under 40, Hawaii Community Foundation’s 2019 Ho’okele Non Profit Leadership award recipient, Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce 2020 Athena Award recipient, Kuikahi Medition Center’s 2020 Peacemaker award recipient and a Weinberg Fellow.It’s her new role as “grandma” to her two-year old grandson Zaiden, that brings the most joyful moments to her day.
Dr. Britta Zimmer is a licensed Naturopathic Physician, receiving her BA from the University of Virginia and ND from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Zimmer completed a comprehensive Family Practice Residency in Portland, Oregon which included extensive work at Outside In Clinic, a FQHC, providing health care for at risk youth. Before moving to Hawaii, Dr. Zimmer, was part of a group practice in Portland, Oregon specializing in general family practice medicine, women’s health, and adolescent health care. Naturopathic Physicians (NDs) are trained to serve as primary care practitioners who are experts in the prevention, diagnosis, management and treatment of both acute and chronic health conditions. Dr. Britta Zimmer has been the Medical Director of Pacific Quest since 2008. Pacific Quest is a sub-acute behavioral health program for adolescents and young adults located on the Big Island of Hawaii. In early 2008, Dr. Zimmer launched Pacific Quest’s wellness program and the integrative team has grown extensively to provide cutting edge integrative medical care. Pacific Quest leads the industry in integrative medical care providing clinical psychology, nutritional science, horticulture therapy, and psychiatric management. Dr. Zimmer enjoys teaching, yoga, and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
M. Keola Kenoi-Okajima
M. Keola Kenoi-Okajima has been employed by the County of Hawaii since 2013, she brings to the board her experience in overseeing county contracts for senior employment training, legal services, healthy aging initiatives, senior transportation services, counseling services for kupuna and their families, and has a special interest in grandparents raising grandchildren. Keola grew up on Hawai'i Island, a proud Waiakea High School Alum, and a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Hilo of where she received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Prior to her work with the County, Keola worked for the State Department of Health as a care coordinator responsible for case management of children and adolescents eligible for mental health services. Keola enjoys working with kupuna and has been a proud patient of Bay Clinic for many years.
Marlo Lyman-Kekaualua, RN is the Care Transitions Manager at HMSA. She oversees all neighbor Island staff who support HMSA members with hospital transition, complex care management and staff who work directly with physicians to help them address clinical care gaps and office transformation to optimize preventive care delivery.
She began her nursing career over 20+ years ago as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). A few years into her career and wanting to advance to become a Registered Nurse (RN), she was instrumental in motivating the University of Phoenix to offer their LPN-BSN program on the Big Island. She encouraged other local LPNs to join her and they became the first graduating class. Her nursing experience includes case management, acute hospital, long term care, public health, palliative care, and healthcare insurance.
Marlo is Big Island born and raised and deeply rooted and passionate about serving her community. Her active community involvement includes representing HMSA on the East Hawaii Community Action Network committee and the East Hawaii Quality Assurance committee, American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Ladies Night Out, Salvation Army, and Hawaii Food bank to name a few. Marlo enjoys hiking, dancing hula, canoe paddling and spending time with her husband, kids, family and friends.
Ronald "Ron" Kim
Ronald "Ron" Kim was born and raised in Honolulu. Ron received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Gonzaga University with a major in History and minors in International Relations and Speech Communications. Ron then received his Juris Doctorate Degree from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii at Manoa with an Environmental Law Program Certificate and Pacific Asian Legal Studies Certificate.
Following graduation from law school Ron clerked for the Honorable Craig H. Nakamura at the Intermediate Court of Appeals for the State of Hawaii. Ron subsequently engaged in the practice of law with several different private firms in Honolulu for over a decade before joining the Department of Corporation Counsel for the County of Hawaii for nearly five years. In May 2020, Ron returned to private practice in Hilo.
