Michael (Mike) E. Gleason
Chair

Background
Mike Gleason has served on the Bay Clinic Board of Directors since 2007. He is currently the CEO of the Arc of Hilo, and is an active member of the Rotary Club of Hilo Bay, National Education Association, and the National Committee of Reinvestment Corporations. He has or is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Hawaii County workforce investment Board as Vice President, the Hawaii alliance of nonprofit organizations of the Big Island, the Boys and Girls Club, and the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce. His interests are in education, social action, and health care. Mike Gleason’s educational background includes a Bachelor degree in education, and a Masters degree in Special Education.

Personal Statement
"Bay Clinic is the Primary Health Care Provider for at risk populations and needs to remain strong and grow to meet the increasing health care needs of this group of underserved people. Health care is much more than a stay at the hospital, it is educating young people (and older people) about choices for healthy living, it is as much about prevention as cure."
