Katharyn F. Daub
Vice Chair


Background
Katharyn Daub has been a member of the Bay Clinic Board of Directors since 2009. She is an associate professor and Chair of the Baccalaureate Nursing at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Prior to her position at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, she was a staff nurse and Hospital Supervisor at the Kona Community Hospital in Hawaii. She was also a nurse at the Lanai Community Hospital in Lanai, Hawaii, Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, Kentucky, and at Kahu Malama in Honolulu Hawaii. She is certified as a Transcultural Nurse and a Certified Nurse Educator. She is a member of Kappa Gamma Society of Women Educators, Sigma Theta Tau, National league for Nursing Member, and Hawaii Nurses Association member. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, her Master of Nursing Education at the Unviersity of Phoenix in Hawaii, and her Doctor of Education from California Coast University in California. She is a member of the Hawaii State Board of Nursing and the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation Management Advisory Council. She has received numerous scholarly publications, received several grant awards, and conducted many academic presentations. Her interests and expertise are in Clinical Health Care, Advocacy, Community Action, our Patient Population, Health Issues and Planning, and Knowledge and commitment to the community.


Personal Statement
"I am very committed to the quality of nursing education for our students (at UH Hilo), and I feel I am able to represent the health care needs of our community and the importance of Bay Clinic in meeting these two needs. I enjoy representing and advocating for Bay Clinic in a positive and pro-active manner."
